Welcome to Sweet Thistle Farms, a family-run flower and pumpkin farm nestled at the base of the foothills in Clovis, California.

Sweet Thistle Farms was created from a love of agriculture, beautiful things, and the belief that some of life's best memories are made on the farm. What began with flowers has grown into a place where families can experience a little piece of real farm life — from fresh-cut blooms and our farm stand to U-Pick experiences, workshops, special events, and our annual Pumpkin Patch.

Meet the Farmers — Sarah & Lucas

Sweet Thistle Farms is the vision of Sarah Shoffner, a fifth-generation California farmer who moved to the San Joaquin Valley in 2018 and couldn't wait to get her hands back in the dirt.

Sarah's love of agriculture, flowers, design, and community inspired her to start growing flowers and sharing them at local farmers markets. From there, the dream kept growing. Flowers led to pumpkins, U-Pick experiences, farm events, workshops, and eventually a place where thousands of people could come experience agriculture for themselves.

And then there's Lucas — Mr. Sweet Thistle.

Lucas is an important part of everything that happens behind the scenes. From tractors and irrigation to growing advice, problem-solving, and moral support, he's usually somewhere nearby helping keep Sarah's latest farm idea moving forward. A farmer himself, Lucas grows wine grapes and almonds and works in agriculture throughout the Central Valley.

And the name Sweet Thistle Farms?

Sarah has always explained it best:

“I'm sweet, and he's a thistle.”

It stuck — and Sweet Thistle Farms was born.

More Than a Pumpkin Patch

Today, Sweet Thistle Farms is still a real working farm.

We plant, grow, harvest, create, and get our hands dirty. Our goal is to give our guests an authentic connection to agriculture while creating a beautiful, welcoming place to slow down and enjoy being together.

In the fall, the farm transforms for our annual Pumpkin Patch, with pumpkins grown right here on the farm, hayrides, family activities, photo opportunities, U-Pick experiences, and plenty of fall memories waiting to be made.

Throughout the seasons, you'll also find fresh flowers, locally grown products, workshops, special events, educational experiences, and opportunities to see firsthand where the things we enjoy really come from.

Growing Something Special

For Sarah and Lucas, Sweet Thistle Farms is about more than growing flowers and pumpkins. It's about family, agriculture, community, and carrying on a farming tradition for another generation.
