Get creative and join the Sweet Thistle Farms Scarecrow Contest! Build your best scarecrow and have it displayed along our Pumpkin Patch hayride route for guests to see and vote for throughout the season.
Entry is FREE! The contest is limited to the first 25 entries, so be sure to sign up early.

1st Place — $200
2nd Place — $150
3rd Place — $100
Winners will be announced October 28, 2026. Participants do not need to be present to win.
Scarecrows will be displayed along the Sweet Thistle Farms hayride route throughout the Pumpkin Patch season. Guests will receive ballots during the hayride and vote for their favorite scarecrow.

Saturday, October 3, 2026: 8:00–9:30 AM
Sweet Thistle Farms will provide a 5-foot metal post for each scarecrow. Entrants must bring their own method of attaching their scarecrow to the post.
Helpful Tip: We recommend running a 2-inch PVC pipe through the center of your scarecrow's body to make attaching it to the post easier and more secure.
Scarecrows will remain outside through October 31 and may be exposed to wind, rain, sun, and other weather conditions. Please use durable materials and keep outdoor conditions in mind when designing your scarecrow.
Sweet Thistle Farms is a family-friendly farm. We reserve the right to refuse or remove any entry we determine is inappropriate for guests of all ages.
All scarecrows must be picked up October 28–31, 2026.
Any scarecrows remaining after the designated pick-up period may be discarded.
Sweet Thistle Farms will not be held responsible for any injury, damage, theft, or lost items related to participation in the 2026 Scarecrow Contest.
Entrants are responsible for retrieving their scarecrows during the designated pick-up period.
By entering, participants grant Sweet Thistle Farms permission to use photographs, videos, and stories featuring contest entries for publicity, marketing, social media, and promotional purposes.
Employees, family members, affiliates, vendors, and advertising representatives of Sweet Thistle Farms are not eligible to compete.
